| The Abe Franck Scholarship
for Hebrew Study in Israel is awarded each year to an
outstanding student. Dr. Franck, retired professor of Mathematics
and language enthusiast, established the prize to encourage
intensive acquisition of Hebrew through study in Israel. Applicants
should be students planning to major in Hebrew or for whom Hebrew
is a primary focus of their educational program.
The Abe Franck Tutorial Project supports a Hebrew
tutor during the academic year. This tutor provides free assistance
to students at all levels of study on a regular basis. The
project is designed to supplement the work of outstanding
students and not just those in need of remedial work. The
tutor is housed in the Department of Classical and Near Eastern
Studies. Students should check with the department for
the hours of tutorial sessions.
