Statement of Interests

I am Latin Language Coordinator for CNES, which means I teach beginning and intermediate Latin as well as coordinate other sections of those courses; I also work with Latin teachers (and others) around Minnesota to promote the study of Latin.

My scholarly interests lie mostly in Augustan Latin authors, including Vergil (the subject of my dissertation and ongoing research), Livy, and Tibullus. I am also interested in Latin pedagogy.

Selected Publications

“Remembering the Enemy: Narrative, Focalization, and Vergil’s Portrait of Achilles.”
Transactions of the American Philological Association 129 (1999) 225-62.

Reviews of books on Vergil and Tibullus for The Classical Journal.
